Lapunyah Art Gallery

Welcome to Lapunyah Art Gallery

Lapunyah Art Gallery is a Regional Art Gallery, located in the Cultural Precinct in Chinchilla’s Central Business District. Recognised as a warm and welcoming space for exhibiting artists and visitors, Lapunyah has a changing program of local and touring exhibitions across two gallery spaces, Heartwood Gallery and Outerark Gallery,
together hosting up to 20 exhibitions each year.

Entirely managed by a team of dedicated volunteer staff, Lapunyah increases the
profile of local artists and provides thought provoking contemporary and
traditional exhibitions for the community.

Our highly skilled volunteers provide professional development support through
exhibition opportunities complimented by community workshops.

With a focus on strong teamwork, Lapunyah develops the professionalism
of our volunteers through a unique in-house exhibition
mentoring program and regular skills training.

Lapunyah Art Gallery is home to the Chinchilla Community Collection.
This includes works by significant artists such as Hugh Sawrey, Anthony Sawrey,
Rex Bacchus-Smith,Tom McAulay, John Morrison and Paul Ching-Bor.

The Collection's unique 'Chinchilla Gold', a series of beautifully drawn images of
